Mens Skin Care

Mens Skin Care by Nicholas Tan

Man skin care’ would seem like an alien topic to some men. It would have been even more alien a few years back. However, more and more men are now realising the importance of man skin care (and hence you see markets flush with man skin care products too). Even though the male skin is very different from that of a female, ‘man skin care’ is very similar to the skin care for women. ‘Man skin care’ too starts with cleansing. Water soluble cleansers are preferred.

Cleansing helps remove the dirt, grease and pollutants from the skin and helps in preventing pore clogging. The inherent oily nature of male skin makes cleansing an important part of man skin care procedure. Cleansing should be done at least once every day, even better if it is done twice a day. Using soap on the face is discouraged.

‘Man skin care’ revolves a lot around shaving. Shaving foam/gel/cream and after shave lotion are one of the most important man skin care products. Serious ‘man skin care’ requires a proper selection of shaving related equipment and products. One of the main considerations in choosing shaving products should be the skin type (since the degree of oiliness differs from person to person). Alcohol-based aftershaves should be avoided. Proper ‘man skin care’ also mandates the use of good quality razors. Here, swivel-head razors are preferred since they are known to reduce cuts. Besides these products and equipment, it is also necessary that you use them properly. Be gentle when using your razor. Do not scratch it against your skin; use a soft and smooth action (after all it’s a matter of removing hair, not the skin itself).

Male skin is generally thicker and oilier, owing to larger pores and more active sebaceous glands. However, due to regular shaving, the skin can get dehydrated quite easily. Hence moisturisers too form an integral part of man skin care. Moisturising gel or cream should be applied after shaving. In fact, some shaving foams/ gel have an in-built moisturising effect too. Moisturisers should be patted gently over the face and massaged gently using upward strokes.

Though a man’s skin is less susceptible to skin cancer caused by UV radiation, using a sunscreen is also an important man skin care measure. You can use a moisturiser that combines sunscreen with the moisturising effect.

Another good option for ‘man skin care’ is to use man skin care products which have natural ingredients like aloe vera, sea salt and coconut etc. Naturally antiseptic oils e.g. lavender, tea tree etc also provide good means for man skin care. Man skin care is not as difficult as a lot of men think. It just asks for a few minutes every day, in order to give you a healthy skin for present and for future.

Natural Anti-Aging Skin Care

Natural Anti-Aging Skin Care by: Jennifer Kays

Our skin is of vital importance to our health. Our skin is responsible for providing protection from environment, providing us with an emotional sense of boundary, creating sensual awareness to communication with the "outside" world e.g. feeling pleasure or pain signals that are vital to our survival and well being.. How our skin feels physically often determines the way we feel emotionally.

Our skin is one way that we communicate information about ourselves to others. We blush, turn pale, signal "worry" or "stress"with wrinkles in our forehead or around our eyes and mouth. Our skin often is used by others to form an impression of our age, how much we are indoors or outdoors and our activity, through scars, wrinkles, colors, and texture of our skin. Our skin is a signal to ourselves and others about our overall health internally, externally, physically and emotionally. "How do I look?" i.e. "What are others seeing and, perhaps, thinking about me?", is a question about the appearance of our skin. This information comes from the tone, texture, firmness, and aroma of our skin. .

Our skin is one of the largest "organs" of our body composing about 10% of our body weight. Our skin entirely replaces it's surface about every 60 to 90 days. Our skin eliminates waste, toxins, sends signals to our internal bodies, and actually breathes. Disturbances in our skin, e.g. eruptions, dryness, oil, rash, "age spots" wrinkles, blotches, etc are often an indication of our internal health..

Many of us have used synthetic prescription drugs, lotions, or creams, to care for our skin. Often these synthetic substances are accompanied by undesired and sometimes harmful "side effects". Our bodies are designed by nature to absorb and use substances that are natural. When an "unnatural", i.e. synthetic substance, is introduced into or on our body, it "interprets" that synthetic, unnatural substance as "foreign"or as an "invader".Our body protects itself either through the production of antibodies from our immune system or does not absorb these synthetic substances.

In contrast, our body readily recognizes, absorbs and uses natural substances as the appropriate material to use to build, repair and sustain itself. Our skin operates in the same way as the rest of our body in terms of what it will or will not absorb and use. Natural substances are recognized by our skin, internally and externally, as "welcome" ingredients for use in building, repairing, and sustaining itself.

There are many natural anti-aging skin care products we can use topically on the outer surface of our skin. All natural anti-aging skin care products contain vitamins, minerals, antioxidants, amino acids, essential fatty acids, and aromas from nature that our skin readily recognizes as appropriate for use. All natural lotions and ointments, help our skin to maintain it's healthy tone, texture, elasticity, aroma and to repair injury, discard waste, breathe properly, sense appropriately, release used skin cells, build new skin cells, protect us, and improve our appearance.. These all natural products contain amino acids, vitamins, antioxidants, herbs, enzymes, aromatherapy oils, and other natural substances that support our skin health. .

Remember that the most important factor in the health of our skin is our internal physical health. An important aspect of anti-aging skin care is healthy digestion and elimination. Our intestinal system is responsible for absorbing food, nutrients, and water and for eliminating waste and toxins from our bodies. When our intestinal digestive system is overwhelmed, it places an extra burden on our skin to increase it's waste disposal function. When our skin's waste disposal function becomes overwhelmed, we develop skin disorders. This is particularly true when we are tying to digest processed foods, dairy products, or other foods lacking fiber. Food becomes putrefied and toxic because it cannot be processed or eliminated properly.

Our skin then attempts to remove these toxins. Pores may become clogged, inflamed, discolored, dry, or oily. If we want healthy anti-aging skin, we need to keep our intestinal digestive system functioning properly. We can help our digestive system with all natural enzymes, essential fatty acids, probiotics and fiber.

Digestive enzymes reduce large food particles so that the body can absorb nutrients and the entire body, skin included, benefits. Discolored skin, wrinkles, or blemishes, can be signs of enzyme deficiency and the loss of collagen that accompanies it. Digestive enzymes reduce free radical damage, help us remove toxins and maintain a healthy balance of beneficial intestinal microflora. Probiotics provide and maintain a healthy balance of intestinal flora, vital to our intestinal digestive health and, in turn, the health of our skin.

Beneficial flora promotes the health bacteria we need and destroys harmful bacteria that can lead to illness and infection. Unfortunately, synthetic prescription antibiotics destroy the good bacteria along with the harmful bacteria. Probiotics help restore the healthy microflora and bacteria after synthetic antibiotic use. Probiotics also help the skin to have healthy bacteria it needs and eliminate the growth of harmful bacteria.

All natural vitamins such as Vitamins A, C, and E are essential for anti-aging skin care. Vitamin A is needed for skin cell growth and renewal. Vitamin A is an antioxidant that fights free radicals, provides nourishment for the fat layer under the skin. Vitamin A deficiency results in dry, rough skin, eruptions, wrinkles, poor texture and tone. Vitamin C helps repair skin by building collagen and fighting infection. Vitamin C deficiency is connected to aging and ultra violet ray damage.

Vitamin E also protects our skin from UV damage, reduces free radicals on our skin surface, and helps prevent the peroxidation of fats which results in skin cell damage.
All natural herbs improve complexion, help remove heat, toxins and swelling from our skin. Herbs can help lighten skin and maintain natural skin moisture..Herbs help prevent scar formation and facilitate new healthy skin growth.

Amino Acids fight harmful bacteria and viruses. Amino acids help carry vital oxygen throughout the body helping our skin breathe. Amino acids are part of facilitating enzyme efficiency and hormonal balance which is a major aspect of anti-aging skin care. Amino acids help stimulate collagen production. Collagen is the tissue that determines skin firmness. By increasing the production of collagen, amino acids can help our skin retain it's firmness, therefore reducing lines and wrinkles.

Essential fatty acids, EFAs, help our skin to become softer, smoother, and retain proper moisture content. Essential fatty acids have a very beneficial effect an the synthesis of prostaglandin hormones in our skin cells. Omega 3, an essential fatty acid, greatly benefits skin texture and may also help prevent the development of skin cancer and aging of our skin.
Our bodies produce Hyaluronic acid which is found to be abundant in young skin.

The affects of aging and environment gradually reduces the amount of hyaluronic acid our bodies produce and maintain. Hyaluronic acid is important for our body's connective tissue, especially in our skin. Hyaluronic acid also helps to cushion, lubricate and provide needed flexibility for our skin.

Alpha Lipoic Acid is becoming well known for it's anti-aging effects and is a potent antioxidant that combats skin damage and helps repair past skin damage. Alpha lipoic acid provides great free radical defense especially when combined with other anti-aging antioxidants.Alpha lipoic acid is soluble in both oil and water. Alpha lipoic acid enhances the benefits of vitamins C and E and Coenzyme Q 10.

Coenzyme Q 10 helps decrease cellular oxidation in skin that accompanies aging. CoQ10 enters the layers of the epidermis and reduces the level of oxidation.. CoQ10 helps protect against UV light. CoQ10 activates phosphotyrosine kinases which prevents oxidation damage. CoQ10 is a very important natural nutrient for anti-aging skin care.

Our natural skin requires natural anti-aging skin care. Many all natural anti-aging skin care nutrients are available for us. They include amino acids, essential fatty acids, vitamins, anti-aging antioxidants and anti-aging skin care formulas. We can help our skin externally through the use of topical all natural lotions, ointments, creams and solutions. We can keep our skin healthy internally through the use of all natural supplements, vitamins and formulas. Our skin keeps our internal system in place and protects our internal structure. Our skin provides valuable information about our overall health. Our skin is important not only for our appearance, but more vitally, for our complete well being.

Organic Skincare - Tips For Natural Skin Care

Organic Skincare - Tips For Natural Skin Care by Franchis

Natural skin care is the care of the skin (the largest organ of the body) using naturally-derived ingredients (such as herbs, roots, essential oils and flowers) combined with naturally occurring carrier agents, preservatives, surfactants, humectants and emulsifiers (everything from natural soap to oils to pure water). The classic definition of natural skin care is based on using botanically sourced ingredients currently existing in or formed by nature, without the use of synthetic chemicals, and manufactured in such a way to preserve the integrity of the ingredients. Natural skin care is the care of the skin (the largest organ of the body) using naturally-derived ingredients (such as herbs, roots, essential oils and flowers) combined with naturally occurring carrier agents, preservatives, surfactants, humectants and emulsifiers. For foot freshness ,soak them for a few minutes in cold salted water. Cider vinegar can be added to the water instead of salt. Cider vinegar is said to cure itchiness of feet.

Skin is mostly due to the lack of proteins, vitamin B and vitamin C. Protein foods supply all the amino-acids essential for keeping your skin youthfu and prove helpful for skin care. Ingredients as Chamomile have demonstrated healing and anti-inflammatory properties when applied topically. Facial skin is very thin and more sensitive to irritants and allergens then the rest of the body. Using face packs and masks helps to regain the hidden lost charm of your skin

Cleansing is the most important aspect of skin-care. Vitamin E has been known to improve moisturization, softness and smoothness and also provide modest photoprotection. Hot water dissolves skin oil better than lukewarm or cold water. Drink plenty of water as oily skin may also be dehydrated - the oiliness of the skin will hide the lack of moisture. Try to drink 2 litres of water a day. Healthy diet and plenty of drinking water to stay hydrated from the inside out. Foods rich in vitamin E include almonds, hazelnuts, sunflower seeds, broccoli, wheat germ, peanuts and vegetable oils. Vitamin A is essential for healthy skin. The most popular and effective skin-care regime, which yields maximum benefit to the skin, comprises the cleansing, toning, moisturizing and conditioning routines.

Natural Skin Care Tips

1. Marvel milk treatment: Mix together 50 grams dried pea powder, lemon juice, one pinch of camphor and a little milk. Apply it over the face and leave it for 15 minutes and scrub it off with milk. This is good for treating scars.

2. Moisturizing and conditioning routines conclude the daily skin-care.

3. Healthy diet and plenty of drinking water to stay hydrated from the inside out

4. Toning The SkinToners not only cleanse the skin further and help in removing any remnants of particles that you may have left behind but also cools, nourishes, hydrates and freshens up your skin.

5. Avoid Excess SugarMost people do not realize this but excess sugar is considered one of the main causes of premature aging. The more sugar we eat, the more sugar we have entering our bloodstream. Over time, this can result in a process known as glycation, which is when a glucose (sugar) molecule damages a protein molecule by sticking to it.

An All Natural Scar Removal Treatment Works Naturally With Your Own Skin To Rejuvenate...

An All Natural Scar Removal Treatment Works Naturally With Your Own Skin To Rejuvenate...by Katherin Hampton

Scar removal can be a tricky business. Newer surgical options promise to have you looking your best overnight but there is a hitch with each option. Depending on the method, inflammation and redness could keep you in bed for weeks at a time. Before undergoing laser scar removal or some other method of scar therapy, you should know that there is a new biological skin care product that can renew your skin without the dangerous side effects of more costly procedures.

Getting rid of acne scars is becoming an enormous business. Scars have the unique power of altering someone's self esteem. After a traumatic experience or a bout with acne, individuals want to return to their normal lives as fast as possible. New scar treatments have given people almost instant improvements in their skin but each of the treatments has a negative side. If people want to eliminate scars, they need to evaluate on a personal level which specific method is best for them. When searching for treatments, it is vital to understand that most treatments are scar specific. Keloids are going to require a different method than your normal acne scars since some removal techniques can actually inflame keloids, making them expand into unsightly eye sores. Let's go over some famous treatments and understand a little better how they improve your skin.

Scar Removal Treatments
Laser treatments appear to be the most fashionable right now because individuals are fascinated with advancements in technology. Lasers remove scar tissue by vaporizing the outer layers and creating a fresher layer of skin. This can be used for post surgical scarring and brown acne scars but it isn't the best for ice pick scars since lasers can't prompt your skin to produce collagen and elastin.

Laser scar removal is often performed under local anesthesia in an outpatient clinic or hospital. People with dark skin types may not be able to undergo laser scar removal due to the risk of hyper pigmentation. The last thing to consider is that this scar healing solution is quite costly and since most of these are considered cosmetic procedures, they are not paid for by insurance.Microdermabrasion is a procedure that can be done by doctors or even by experienced professionals who work at day spas. There are different types of microdermabrasion that vary depending on where the procedure is done. A small machine can be used, which can vary in looks from a sand blaster to a vacuum, that utilizes oxide crystals to eat away elevated scars and shed them from the surface of the skin.

If the microdermabrasion machine is not properly handled or has not been properly sterilized, it can result in hyperpigmentation, skin traumas, or infections. People have also complained of increased sun sensitivity, scaling, and redness after microdermabrasion. There is one new all natural scar removal product that is making other methods obsolete. The cream is made with a natural skin care element that can fuse with skin cells and naturally remove scar tissue by remodeling dermal components. Why stress about dangerous scar removal techniques when there is a completely natural option on the market that functions with your cells to dissolve scars through topical application of a natural skin care product.

When applied to human skin, the cream will:* diffuse scarred tissues and regulate the ordered elimination of scars and even keloids using natural enzymes.* stimulate new cellular growth using the amino acid components of the dissolved scars.* biological enzymes improve cellular communication and synchronize skin cells. This helps maintain essential healthy cells in a trauma site.* natural regeneration activators kick in after being applied to skin and start generating fibroblasts.* Copper peptides stimulate skin remodeling by boosting collagen and elastin components in the skin as well as increasing the removal of damaged proteins. New skin cells are rushed into the site where the scar existed and rapidly reconstruct the injury site. * The reddish appearance of acne scars is due in part to bacteria and cellular damage. The biological ingredient destroys bacteria and hazardous microbes that have the habit to inflame skin pores. This is essential in preventing loss of tissue and depressed scarring.

Aging And Anti Aging The Fact And Fiction...

Aging And Anti Aging The Fact And Fiction... By: Graham Waite..

You start to experience aging within minutes of being born your body starts to change and from then on until the day you die your body will be constantly changing initially due to development and then through aging.

This means that body has already to start to function less effectively. The body makes these changes on it's own which at this stage most people will hardly notice but are the first indicators of the body starting to slowly age.

The musculoskeletal system is the first area that most age related diseases and illnesses start. For this reason once, a person turns 35 years of age regardless of their activities, athletic nature, they become more likely to be effected by aging. Still it is possible to reduce such age related diseases and ilnesses by avoiding injuries to the muscles and joints, and living a healthy life.

This can be achieved by where possible preventing accidental damage, abuse such as drinking or taking drugs to excess and also smoking. Your health can be improved by increased levels of exercise, healthy eating adopting a positive outlook on life and hanging aound with positive people.

Regular medical check ups can have their benefits also. When discussing your health with your medical practitioner make sure that he is fully appraised of all the facts including any know family history of illness and disease especially any that family members may have suffered in old age.

As noted earlier, our body starts to deteriorate due to aging by age 35, also our sensory organs may also start to take a rain check. At this time, the eyes may become affected and you might find it difficult to focus on objects up close. In medical terms, this condition is known as presbyopia.

It is not uncommon to find people everywhere wearing glasses and contact lenses beyond the age of 40. In America it is estimated around 90 million people suffer from presbyopia. But equally it seems the aging of some people under 35 will already have started as more people of 35 and younger need assistance with their vision than ever before.

On top failing eye sight you might also experience some hearing loss. Although not that common some people may even be deaf by age 40 and most notice some partial hearing loss. This is a condition know as presbycusis which is directly related to aging. One effect of this condition might be certain sounds become in audible or sound harsh or just to loud.

You might have enjoyed seeing your favorite rock band perform but now you find this is just to much for your ears to cope with. This is because the aging process has affected your hearing. You might find high pitch sounds less audible or maybe it's difficult to hear people in a crowded room or when the TV is on.

As the hearing is weakend, you will start to hear speech differently. For instance, the use of K may sound distorted, which affects comprehension and understanding. In other words, a older person may hear the CH in a word, such as Chute Up, and think that someone is telling them to shut-up.

The Ch sound becomes altered. It is usually possible to help people suffering from hearing loss by using hearing aids or other listening aids. Another way to help people with slight hearing loss is to make sure body language is not confused and where people possible each other while talking. In extreme cases it could be necessary to use the deaf sign language.

These are all signs of natural healthy aging, yet in some aging signs are less natural. For instance, if you unfortunate enough to contract lung cancer because of a history of smoking, or being around second-hand smoke, then the cause is not what nature intended.

During maturity and the body starts aging it is common for weight changes to occur (this is more prevalent in families with history of obesity and being overweight). The body produces up to 30% more fat and converts food to energy less effectively at around the age of 40. In addition wrinkles and other signs of aging start to become more noticable.

Basic Acne Skin Care

Basic Acne Skin Care
by : R Heavner

As with many things in life, little things can mean a lot. The individual with acne will need to use every means available to keep their acne under control and prevent future scarring. A few basic skin care precautions can go a long way in achieving these goals.

It is a temptation for many with acne, especially in the early stages, to scrub their skin with strong detergent soaps. Vigorous scrubbing will not help, and will very likely make the problem worse. Your face should be gently cleaned twice a day with a mild cleanser formulated for acne skin care. Clean from the neckline to the hairline, and be sure and use plenty of water.

For those who exercise and sweat, your face should be cleaned after exercise. Likewise, those who live in hot climates and find themselves sweating a lot may also want to wash more frequently. Again, a gentle washing with an acne skin care cleanser should suffice.

Use a mild moisturizer made for your type of skin, Allowing the skin to dry out will not help the problem. Likewise, use cosmetics which are oil free and formulated for your skin.

Men who shave may want to experiment with both electric and safety razors to see which is more comfortable for their skin. Men who use safety razors should use a sharp blade and thoroughly soften their beard before shaving. Try and shave lightly and only when necessary.

Regardless of how tempting, at all costs avoid. squeezing, pinching, or rubbing of acne blemishes. This will only aggravate the condition and may lead to scarring later.

Doctors recommend that patients regularly shampoo their hair as a part of their acne skin care regimen. Those with oily hair may want to shampoo daily.

Use caution while in the sun. While a suntan may help mask acne blemishes, the effect is only temporary as too much exposure can eventually aggravate the acne. Many over the counter and prescription acne treatments can create an oversensitivity to sunlight and make the user susceptible to serious sunburns.

Skin Care - The Benefits Of Vitamin C Skin Products

Vitamin C is one of the most widely used skin care ingredients. The variety of skin rejuvenation / anti-wrinkle products with vitamin C is staggering. Do these products work? Do their claims have any substance? The situation is a little complicated. On one hand, vitamin C does possess definite, scientifically validated merits for wrinkle reduction and skin rejuvenation. On the other hand, many vitamin C products do not work. he most common fat soluble Vitamin C derivative in skin care products is ascorbyl palmitate. This ingredient is more stable and less irritating than Vitamin C. Another derivative is the water soluble magnesium ascorbyl phosphate. Vitamin C derivatives have also been found by researchers that can be used as ingredients.

A popular anti skin aging ingredient is Vitamin C. In anti skin aging treatment Vitamin C is the most effective ingredient. The skin receives many good benefits from Vitamin C. Not only does this vitamin help get rid of the free radicals that can damage your skin but it also helps your body increase the production of collagen.

The biggest challenge for the skin care industry is the stability of Vitamin C. When exposed to the air, Vitamin C oxidizes immediately. When Vitamin C is oxidized it not only becomes ineffective but it is also harmful to individuals since it will increase the production of free radicals.

There are plenty of good reasons to add vitamin C to your diet and skin care program. Benefits of vitamin C on the outside of your body. Vitamin C products for skin care can provide greater protection against harmful UV rays, increase the production of collagen and decrease the look of fine lines and pigmentation that are the result of aging. This can actually be easier said than done, since the properties of vitamin C make it difficult to use in a skin care product. Use a variety of vitamin C derivatives in skin care products that will bring about the same benefits as natural vitamin C with less of the ingredient required for results. While Vitamin C products will work well for some they can be useless for others. Some skin care product ingredients don’t respond effectively for all skin types.

Bottom line

While unmodified vitamin C remains an important skin care ingredient, its derivatives may do a better job in some situations. They tend to be more stable, more affordable and less irritating. Furthermore, some of the derivatives may even be as effective in boosting skin collagen synthesis. On the other hand, unmodified vitamin C may be a better choice if you want to stimulate collagen synthesis and exfoliate at the same time. (High potency vitamin C products are highly acidic and therefore have exfoliating effect.)

5 Proven Secrets To Youthful Skin

5 Proven Secrets To Youthful Skin
by Sharon Bell

As you grow old, your skin is slowly losing its elasticity and in the process, you develop lines and spots on your skin. To make things more complicated, the environment itself can take its toll on your skin. Take action against the slow deterioration of your skin; maintain a youthful looking skin no matter what by following these simple tips.

Moisturize Your Skin
The first commandment in any skin care treatment is to ensure that your skin gets all the moisture that it needs. Skin dryness or dehydration is the biggest cause of skin damage, so you must avoid it at all costs. You do not need to spend a fortune in ensuring a well-moisturized skin; in fact, if you have to invest in your skin care regimen, a good bottle of moisturizer lotion or cream will go a long way.

The best time to apply your moisturizer is right after you have taken a hot shower when the pores of your skin are open and ready to absorb your moisturizing application. Also, always remember to target hard and dry areas when applying your moisturizer; apply more of your lotion or cream on areas like your knees, elbows, hands and feet.

Cleanse Your Skin At Least Once A Day

The reason is obvious. As the most exposed organ in the body, the skin is exposed to all types of dirt and contaminants, including germs and bacteria. All these harmful elements can surely hamper or damage your skin's ability to create fresh layers; in turn, making your skin look old and dry.

By cleansing your skin at least once a day, you keep it free from harmful contaminants. Basic soap and water will do. And with a soft sponge as your scraper, you also gently remove stubborn dirt lodged in the pores of your skin.

Always Pat Dry

When drying, always pat your skin with a soft towel and never ever scrub your skin, especially on your face area, because hard rubbing motion will surely damage your skin cells and create deep creases for you later on. Apart from this, all the needed nutrients and the natural oils secreted by your skin are also totally wiped out with scrubbing action; leaving your skin dry and defenseless against contaminants.

Always Wear Sunscreen

With the present condition of the Earth's ozone layer, harmful ultraviolet rays can penetrate your skin easily whether you are outdoors or indoors. That's right, if you think that UV rays can not damage your skin when you are protected by roofs and walls, you are dead wrong! Wherever sunlight can enter, ultraviolet emissions can wreak havoc on your skin; so never think twice about putting on that sunscreen.

The main reason that babies have such supple and soft skin is that they have not yet been exposed to sunlight for too long. The sun's rays can contribute a lot in making your skin old, wrinkly and a haven for spots.

Exfoliate And Then Exfoliate Some More

To let new layers of skin come out, you need to exfoliate your skin. Exfoliation is the process of removing or scraping away dead skin cells. As you do this to your skin, you also remove deep-seated dirt and spots on your old skin. Exfoliation will leave your skin always feeling soft and radiant just like that of a baby.

Apart from these practices, you can also add drinking plenty of water and taking vitamins that can nourish your skin. Some products are also rich in nutrients that can nurture and reinvigorate your skin, just like Rejuvinol. For more details about keeping your skin moisturized visit www.Rejuvinol.com.

Skin Care Acne - Tips For Taking Care Of Your Skin by Franchis

One of the best ways to deal with acne is to use antioxidants. They keep the skin supple and glowing, and also prevent the skin from ageing or getting wrinkled. The antioxidants, which are largely present in the epidermal layer of the skin, neutralize the nascent oxygen molecules that are known to play havoc with the skin.

The key players in the formation of acne are:

excess sebum under the control of androgens
plugged pores or follicles
bacteria and inflammation.

Having an acne problem myself, as an adult I personally know how tremendously embarrassing and burdensome this problem can be. At this point, I fully believe in a holistic approach to acne treatment i.e. utilizing a three-step topical treatment and implementing those vitamins & minerals in the diet that are beneficial to the proper functioning of the skin. I mean treat the acne on the outside and on the inside. Below is a summary of my findings that I hope could be usefully in your battle with acne. Sometimes, all the body needs the right nutritional balance to heal it self, these methods typically work within four weeks.

Antioxidants serve as a skin barrier to prevent free radicals from penetrating the living dermal layer. The highest concentration of antioxidants in the body is found in the outermost layer of skin, the epidermis. As we age, the concentration of antioxidants in the epidermis starts decreasing considerably. This is one reason that skin starts showing signs of damage. Antioxidants on their own will not treat acne, but they are a step in the right direction.

Some of the well-known antioxidants are vitamin E, vitamin C, vitamin B, vitamin A, and the minerals zinc, chromium and selenium. All these antioxidants help in the prevention and treatment of acne, preventing the free radicals from harming the skin and immune system, which helps in acne flare-ups. Other steps that I have employed personally include:

The application of HONEY 1-2 times per week to the face - Honey has natural antibacterial properties. It has been well documented by many experts that it is great for disinfecting and healing minor blemishes. It is also very gentle on sensitive skin.

Using a three step regime as recommended by your dermatologist

Washing affected areas twice a day with sulfur based soaps specially designed for acne is highly beneficial. Sulfur is useful in acne medication and problem skin treatments, since it helps to kill bacteria on the skin, which results in an improvement in acne. Sulfur is also an effective treatment of inflammatory pimples and acne lesions. Washing at the affected area first thing in the morning and before bedtime is with a product containing this component can prove over time to be effective. However, as a caution it should be noted that over washing will actually stimulate the sebaceous glands to produce more sebum, which would only increase the acne problem.

Remove dead skin cell and excess oils by cleansing with an alcohol-free toner. This will unplug pores.

Finally apply a product with 2.5% benzoyl peroxide to heal blackheads and blemished and help prevent future breakouts

Keep your hair off your face – Try to keep hair off the face, hair contains oils and will contribute to your breakouts. You will also want to wash your hair everyday especially after workouts.

Take a potent MULTI-VITAMIN - Acne indicates that something is not functioning properly on the inside.

Include CHROMIUM in your diet – As added benefit chromium is well known for WEIGHT LOSS. However it has been proven that it is also excellent for healing infections on the skin. A chromium supplement once a day will help heal your pimples quickly and prevent future breakouts.

EAT CARROTS for beta-carotene (VITAMIN A) - Vitamin A strengthens the protective tissue of the skin and actually prevents acne. The way it works is it helps reduce sebum production. This vitamin is essential for the maintenance and repair of the tissue which the skin and mucous membranes are made of. Vitamin A is also a powerful antioxidant needed to rid your body of toxins. It has been proven that a deficiency in VITAMIN A can cause acne; this might be one of the first things to check.

Avoid wearing makeup – I think the main problem is leaving makeup on your face for long periods and wearing very heavy cover up make up daily. This type of activity is counterproductive. Yes we want our skin to look flawless but we also need to solve the acne problem. Maybe the compromise is to wear light makeup for everyday use and leave the heavy applications for special occasions.

Drink - Water is nature’s cleanser. Drinking water is essential for clean skin and overall good health. Water rids the body of waste; its importance cannot be overemphasized.

Do not pick or squeeze your blackheads and pimples - These actions, actually increases the sebum production.

Wash your pillowcase every other day – You rest your face on your pillowcase every day, during your sleep your pillowcase absorbs the oils from your skin and reapplies the dirt and oil. This causes acne; therefore washing your pillowcase frequently will help.

Preventing Early Acne Scars

The best way to prevent post-inflammatory changes caused by acne is to prevent acne lesions from occurring. This is done by understanding the factors that cause acne and using the appropriate treatments for the different acne types. Healthcare providers say that vitamins and minerals in all forms play a critical role in healthy organs, the largest of which is skin. According to the founder of the National Institute of Whole Health in Boston, skin is the window that shows what's going on inside the body. Therefore, skin care acne products should treat the inner body as well.
