Botox For Busy People

Botox For Busy People

Do you look in the mirror and see an old person? Do you have wrinkles around your mouth or crow's feet around your eyes? Have your wrinkles give you a permanent look of sadness or stress?

Wrinkles are normal; they are just one of those blessed side effects that come with age. But is also normal to wish you looked and felt younger. In the past, the only way to achieve a dramatically more youthful look was to undergo plastic surgery. These procedures are somewhat invasive, expensive, and often take at least a few weeks of recovery. It is for this reason that only a small percentage of people actually elected for the surgery.

Plastic surgery procedures such as face and neck lifts or skin tightening procedures are still available and performed, but there is a new alternative available for people who wish to look younger but don't have the time, money, or guts to go through with surgery.

Botox injections have become increasingly popular because the treatments are less expensive, invasive, and there is virtually no recovery time. Botox is a toxin that is injected through tiny needles into the skin of the face.

This toxin slightly paralyzes the muscles of the face preventing wrinkles from appearing in places like your forehead, around your eyes and mouth, neck, or anywhere you wish wrinkles to disappear from. This gives your face an overall more relaxed and youthful look without wrinkles.

Plastic surgery costs thousands of dollars depending on the procedure, the surgeon, and the extent of the surgery. The prices are high because they include costs for general and local anesthesia, possible hospitalization time, and because the risk on the plastic surgeon's part is greater.

Botox is significantly less expensive costing on average $400 to $500 per treatment with the results of each treatment lasting about four months. Of course, because treatments are temporary, they must be repeated and costs will eventually add up. But most people find smaller and more spread out payments more manageable.

Plus, even plastic surgery procedures are not completely permanent. Gravity and age still wear on your face and skin following surgery. So in this time of economic stress, many people are finding that Botox is the better option.

Many people prefer Botox because they are too busy and can't sacrifice weeks away from work and responsibilities to recover from surgery. Possibly the most attractive feature of Botox injections is that treatments can be performed on a person's lunch break.

Depending on the number of injections needed, treatments may take 10-30 minutes and the people can return to work or their daily activities immediately with little or no side effects. Many people are now adding Botox treatments to their daily list of errands. Now you can conveniently fit looking younger into your busy schedule.

Many people who are afraid of surgery or of poor surgical results prefer the temporary feature of Botox. If they don't love the way they look after a treatment, it's okay because your face will be back to normal in four to six months and you never have to have injections again if you prefer it. People can essentially have a non-surgical, trial run on their new look when using Botox treatments.

It's amazing that botox can make a person look younger. Although it doesn't last long as plastic surgery does, it can still give people the feeling that they, too, will look younger.

Botox is really a blessing for people who like to look younger than their age for a cheaper price. I have to agree with Antoinette that even though it doesn't last long like surgery, making people look younger than their age seems sufficient enough to boost their self-esteem.
